Guwahati and Kaziranga: 3 Nights / 4 Days

A compact introduction to Assam: Guwahati's river and temple, then two nights beside Kaziranga for safaris.

Overview

This short itinerary pairs a first evening in Guwahati with a long, unhurried stay near Kaziranga. It is designed for guests with limited time who want a real wildlife experience rather than a quick drive-through.

Safari slots, ranges and modes are set by the park authority, and the park is closed in the monsoon. We confirm current arrangements for your dates before finalising the plan.

Day 1Arrive in Guwahati

Meet your driver at Guwahati airport or station and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, take a short evening outing on the Brahmaputra, subject to operator schedules and water levels.

Day 2Drive to Kaziranga

Leave Guwahati after breakfast for the drive to Kaziranga, roughly 4.5 to 5.5 hours with a stop. Check in, rest, and join an afternoon safari if park timings allow.

Day 3A full day in Kaziranga

Take an early safari in one range, return for breakfast and rest, then visit a second range in the afternoon. Safari modes and slots depend on current park arrangements.

Day 4Return to Guwahati and departure

After a final morning safari if timing permits, drive back to Guwahati, around five hours. Allow ample buffer before onward flights; we suggest late-afternoon or evening departures.

Main experiences

  • Kaziranga jeep safaris in two ranges, subject to park arrangements
  • Optional evening river outing in Guwahati, subject to operator schedules
  • Birdwatching around park-edge wetlands and gardens
  • Local Assamese meals
