Travel experience

Kolkata Heritage Walks

Old Kolkata, explored street by street.

Kolkata rewards slow exploration. Crumbling mansions, bookshops, markets, temples, churches and communities with long histories sit close together, particularly in the north of the city.

Most travellers come through Kolkata on the way to the Eastern Himalayas, which makes a walk a useful addition before or after a hill journey.

How we plan it

We keep walks compact because heat, humidity and traffic can tire visitors quickly. Some places require permission or have limited hours, so we confirm access in advance and prepare alternatives.

We do not currently describe fixed Kolkata packages. Walks are arranged on request for your dates.
