Day 1Arrive and settle in Darjeeling
Meet your driver at Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri station for the drive up through Siliguri and the hills, roughly 3.5 to 4.5 hours. Check in, rest, and take a gentle evening stroll around Chowrasta and the Mall.
Day 2Tiger Hill sunrise, Ghoom and Batasia Loop
Leave before dawn for Tiger Hill, roughly 11 km from town, for a sunrise that depends on the weather. Return for breakfast, then visit Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop. Add the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in the afternoon if time allows.
Day 3Tea garden and heritage Darjeeling
Spend the morning at a tea estate such as Happy Valley, subject to access, with a tasting. After lunch, explore Observatory Hill, Bhutia Busty Monastery and local lanes. A short toy train ride is possible, subject to services.
Day 4Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Bagdogra or New Jalpaiguri, allowing around 4 hours plus a buffer for flights or trains.
Main experiences

Practical considerations
Early start
The Tiger Hill drive leaves before dawn. It is optional, and we can swap it for a later morning on a poor-weather day.
Road conditions
Allow generous time on the first and last days. Rain or landslides can add delays.
Altitude
Darjeeling is at roughly 2,000 metres. Most travellers adjust easily, but take medical advice if you have heart or breathing concerns.
Flexibility
The sequence of days can change to suit visibility, estate access and train schedules.
This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed departure. Sequence, stays and activities are confirmed when we plan your journey, subject to availability, season, permits and local conditions.
