Overview
This is our recommended way to experience western Arunachal. It spreads the climb over several days, gives Tawang three nights and returns by a different rhythm, with a night at Bomdila and a final night at Tezpur.
Nameri and Bhalukpong offer a gentle start in the foothills. Activities in this area depend on the season and on local arrangements.
- Duration
- 7 Nights / 8 Days
- Route
- Guwahati > Bhalukpong > Dirang > Tawang > Bomdila > Tezpur > Guwahati
- Suits
- Travellers who want a proper Tawang trip with time to acclimatise, and who enjoy scenic drives and monastic culture.
- Stay style
- Comfortable mid-range hotels and well-located guesthouses along the route, chosen for warmth, views and cleanliness. In Tawang, a heated room matters more than brand.
