Overview
A short, relaxed introduction to the Andaman Islands for those with limited leave. You spend one night in Port Blair and two on Havelock Island, with beach time rather than a crowded checklist.
Inter-island ferries run to operator schedules and sea conditions, so this plan keeps a buffer on the last day. If you have a few more days, the five-night itinerary lets the islands breathe.
- Duration
- 3 Nights / 4 Days
- Route
- Port Blair > Havelock Island > Port Blair
- Suits
- Short holidays, couples and first-time visitors who want sea and quiet more than a long list of sights.

Day 1Arrive in Port Blair
Arrive at Port Blair (IXZ) and transfer to your stay. In the afternoon visit the Cellular Jail and, subject to the day's schedule, the evening light-and-sound programme. An early night helps before the ferry.
Day 2Ferry to Havelock Island
Take a morning ferry to Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep), roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the vessel (check current schedules). Settle in, then walk to a beach for the late afternoon and sunset.
Day 3Beach day on Havelock
Spend the morning on Radhanagar Beach, usually calmer early in the day. The afternoon is free for swimming, a short snorkelling or boat outing where conditions and operators allow, or simply rest.
Day 4Return to Port Blair and depart
Take the morning ferry back to Port Blair and transfer for your onward flight. Book flights for the afternoon or evening, not early morning, to keep a margin for sea delays.
Main experiences
- Cellular Jail and its history
- Radhanagar Beach at a quiet hour
- Ferry crossing between islands
- Optional snorkelling in calm conditions
- Sunset on the beach
