Sikkim · 3 Nights / 4 Days
Gangtok Short Trip: 3 Nights / 4 Days
Gangtok and its monasteries in a compact plan, with an optional Tsomgo Lake day subject to permits and weather.
Suits: Short breaks and first-time visitors who prefer a single base.
Sikkim · 6 Nights / 7 Days
Gangtok, South Sikkim's tea hills and Pelling's Kanchenjunga views on a route that moves gradually west.
This journey travels through East, South and West Sikkim, so you experience the capital, the quieter tea country around Temi and Ravangla, and the old monasteries of Pelling. Each region has its own character, and the longer stays in Gangtok and Pelling keep the driving days manageable.
It avoids North Sikkim, so the route stays at moderate altitude and works well for families, couples and older travellers.

Meet your driver at Bagdogra or New Jalpaiguri and drive to Gangtok, around four to five hours. Settle in and spend the evening on MG Marg.
Visit Rumtek Monastery, Enchey Monastery and Do Drul Chorten, then take in the viewpoints at Ganesh Tok or Tashi Viewpoint. A relaxed afternoon follows.
Drive to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (permit required), returning to Gangtok in the afternoon. This day can be swapped for a slower day in Gangtok if you prefer to avoid altitude.
Drive to Ravangla (around three hours without stops), pausing at Temi Tea Garden for a walk and a cup of tea. Visit Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal) in the afternoon.
Drive on to Pelling (around three to four hours, depending on route and road condition). Stop at Namchi or a local viewpoint if time allows. Check in and enjoy the evening light on the peaks if clear.
Visit Pemayangtse Monastery and the ruins at Rabdentse. Khecheopalri Lake can be added as a longer excursion. Keep some time free for the early-morning mountain view.
Drive to Bagdogra or New Jalpaiguri, allowing five to six hours. Plan onward travel with a comfortable buffer.
A Protected Area Permit is needed for Tsomgo Lake (Indian visitors). Foreign nationals need a Restricted Area Permit. Check current rules before travel.
Journeys between regions can be slow and may be interrupted by landslides in the monsoon. We build in buffer time.
Altitude is moderate, apart from the Tsomgo Lake day, which can be replaced.
Cloud often builds by mid-morning, so the best views are usually at dawn.
This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed departure. Sequence, stays and activities are confirmed when we plan your journey, subject to availability, season, permits and local conditions.
