Spiti Valley · 5 Nights / 6 Days

Spiti Introduction: 5 Nights / 6 Days

A short taste of Spiti: up from Manali over Kunzum La, two nights in Kaza and out through Kinnaur.

Overview

This is a one-way route: you enter Spiti from Manali, spend time around Kaza and exit through Kinnaur to Shimla. The Manali approach is quicker but climbs fast, so we put a gentle first night in Manali and keep the first Spiti days light.

It runs only when the Manali-Kunzum La road is open, roughly mid-June to late September, and some days involve very long driving.

Practical considerations

Season

Suited to roughly mid-June to late September, when both the Kinnaur and Manali approaches are generally open. Conditions vary each year.

Altitude

Kaza is around 3,800 metres, villages higher. We ascend gradually and keep rest in the plan. Consult your doctor beforehand.

Road conditions

Landslides, river crossings and rough surfaces are common. Long drive days can run late and we keep buffers.

Facilities

ATMs, mobile coverage and fuel are limited beyond Kaza. Carry cash, medication and warm clothing.

This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed departure. Sequence, stays and activities are confirmed when we plan your journey, subject to availability, season, permits and local conditions.
