Bhutan at a Slower Pace: 8 Nights / 9 Days

A reflective journey with two nights each in Paro, Thimphu and Punakha, time for village walks and a night in Phobjikha.

Overview

This itinerary allows time to linger. Rather than moving daily, you stay two nights in each major valley, with space for village walks, quieter temples and a leisurely look at local life.

It is designed for travellers who like to absorb a place rather than check off sights. The journey still includes the highlights, such as Taktsang, Dochula Pass and Punakha Dzong, but the days are lighter and the routes have breathing space.

Practical considerations

Pace

Two-night stays reduce packing and rushing, but there are still several long drives.

Entry

Visa, fee and permit rules vary by nationality and can change. See Bhutan travel planning.

Seasonality

Winter nights can be cold, and the monsoon affects road conditions.

Flexibility

We can shorten or lengthen the route, or swap Phobjikha for another valley, to suit your plans.

This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed departure. Sequence, stays and activities are confirmed when we plan your journey, subject to availability, season, permits and local conditions.
