Overview
A balanced first visit to Nepal: two nights in the Kathmandu Valley and two in Pokhara. The Kathmandu stay covers Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath; Pokhara offers a lake, a viewpoint at dawn and, in clear weather, Annapurna views.
The road between the two cities is slow (around 6 to 8 hours), and a short domestic flight is an alternative. See the six-night extension with Chitwan.
